It is a privilege and blessing to participate in Christ’s mission and serve in the faith formation of your child .

We recognize that our role is secondary; the primary role and responsibility in faith education remains with you. With this in mind, below are Family Life in Christ Handouts that coordinate with your child’s religious education lessons in class.

These handouts are devised with the family in mind. They reinforce some key concepts for that particular lesson and provide a means for families to further their Life in Christ.

Each handout begins with an overview and include six areas (1) Scripture, (2) Reflection, (3) Prayer Practice, (4) Mission, (5) Holy Spirit , (6) Children Resources and (7) Parent /Guardian Resources.

As you spend time together and explore these areas, know that Christ is center.

Sacrament Preparation for 1st Communion & 1st Penance

If your child was not baptized at Saint Andrew the Apostle, a copy of their baptismal certificate is required when you register.

If your child has not been baptized, we would be happy to work with you and your child in preparation to receive the Sacrament of Baptism and begin their formal education in our faith.

Confirmation Preparation

Our students begin their preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in their freshman year of high school, receiving the sacrament in their sophomore year. It is further expected that unless your child has attended one of our Diocesan Catholic Schools, they have been actively participating in a Faith Formation Program for the 8 years prior to their entry into our Confirmation Program. Please note that Canon Law provides some very specific guidelines for selecting a Sponsor for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Since this is always a source of concern and tension, it is very important that you review these requirements with Fr. Murphy before asking anyone to serve in this very special spiritual role.
